Willow Farmhouse is located on an elevated site overlooking the fertile valley between the village of Milford and Lough Fern. It is surrounded by mature, native species trees and shrubbery – a legacy of a former dwelling on this site. The house is very private, yet is within walking distance or a short drive to all amenities in the area. The house is very spacious. Internet available.
Milford is located in the northeast of the county and makes an ideal base for touring and sightseeing. It is within easy driving distance of the fabulous beaches at Downings and Rathmullan and of all the amenities of Donegal’s largest town, Letterkenny.
The golf link courses at Portsalon and Rosapenna are among the finest in the country. Just outside the village is one of Donegal’s finest trout waters, Lough Fern. For the sea angler, boat hire and regular arranged fishing trips are available at Rathmullan and Downings.

Comforts of home!
The location is wonderful. Peaceful with stunning views. John and Dolores were very welcoming with stove fire lit and homemade soda bread. The house is spacious and cosy and relaxing. The grandchildren enjoyed John showing them round the farm and meeting with the animals. We enjoyed fresh eggs on a regular basis which were delicious. John also let our dog have a holiday with us as well!
A breath of fresh Donegal air
Beautiful home, stayed for 3 nights, spectacular views & walks perfect for a weekend / longer stay, Dolores was v kind & v helpful. Lots of space there were 6 adults & 3 kids lots of room for us all. Portsalon beach approximately 15 min drive well worth a visit, we’ll be back again.
lovely homemade brown bread and fresh eggs
This was our second stay and it was just as enjoyable as the first. A welcoming fire had been lit by John and Dolores provided her lovely homemade brown bread and fresh eggs.
Our grandchildren had great fun feeding the donkeys and playing on the swings and slide, the grown-ups enjoyed the pool table..
The house location is tranquil and private while being central to trips to the beach ( Ballymastocker especially ),Glenveigh National Pk.,etc..
All in all, a brilliant holiday and we can’t wait to return..
The house was perfect for our group of 11
Beautiful views on the property. Dolores gave us a tour of the animals fresh eggs and brown bread a nice surprise. The house was perfect for our group of 11. Next time need to spend more time in the area. The 20 year olds loved feeding the donkeys!
Lovely owners, great house!
Can’t remember exactly which month i stayed at the house but think it was Feb 2012. a big group of us went, 4 couples and 2 other friends. had a great weekend! the house was so homely and comfortable and the rooms were nicely decorated. so much room for us all with a living room and then sort of another big room off it was a table and chairs and pool table. v good value for money too. the owners were so lovely and friendly. we went to another house in Donegal last year and the owners were not polite at all and it made such a difference…. the owners of this house made us all feel so welcome. The house had herbs and a cookbook and plenty of utensils to cook with. it had a cd player too as far as i remember. lovely garden and area around the house too and a decking area. we used the bbq for breakfast also! Would definitely recommend this place. Milford is quite quiet but you don’t really go to Donegal for that reason! lots of nice areas near by. we went to a great beach. thanks again.
